Working on an outline

I’ve always been an outliner.  Even in high school, though I hated the extra step (because I was generally very lazy).  But traditional outlining has always helped me to organise my thoughts better than any other method.  I never thrived with index cards or thought webs (or whatever they are called).

But last year, I engaged in a personal science experiment where i tried to write off the cuff.  It was a huge failure.

At the end of the year, I realised once and for all that I am an outliner.

This year I’m back to embracing my process.

And since the new year, I’ve nearly finished an outline for a new story.

It’ll be done by Feb, with a first draft by April.

So that’s what I’m working on.

Fellows, embrace your process!  You’ll be glad you did!
